China-Indonesia Green Cooperation Gains Momentum! All-China Environment Federation Joins Hands with Sinar Mas Group and JISC to Forge a New Highlight for Ecological Industry under the Belt and Road In
On April 22, 2026, a delegation led by the All-China Environment Federation (ACEF) visited Indonesia for a series of green economic and trade exchanges. The delegation successively held a cooperation meeting with the Sinar Mas Group and visited Jatiluhur Industrial Smart City (JISC), focusing on in-depth cooperation in environmental governance, green energy, low-carbon industrial park transformation and other fields. The event promoted the efficient overseas deployment of China’s green technologies, products and solutions, injecting new impetus into the Belt and Road ecological industry cooperation.
Cooperation Meeting with Sinar Mas Group
At the cooperation meeting between ACEF and Sinar Mas Group held on the morning of April 22, the two sides focused on high-quality cooperation in environmental protection and green energy, explored pathways for the overseas development of Belt and Road green brands and synergy in the ecological industry, and built a bridge for China-Indonesia green economic and trade cooperation.
Shi Xiang, Secretary General of the Belt and Road Eco-Industry Cooperation Working Committee of ACEF, attended and addressed the meeting. Mr. Bagas, Head of China Desk at Sinar Mas Group, systematically introduced the Group’s global layout and energy sector strategy, focusing on cooperation directions including renewable energy, low-carbon transition and green infrastructure. Representatives from three subsidiaries—Rolimex Chemical, DMBS Geothermal and ASL Mining—elaborated on business demands in sewage treatment, solid waste disposal, geothermal development, and green upgrading of chemical and mining industries.

In terms of sludge treatment, the two sides held in-depth discussions on the disposal of high-concentration organic wastewater and industrial sludge generated from the Group’s chemical production. Chinese enterprises presented mature technical solutions for sludge reduction, stabilization and resource utilization, and both sides agreed to carry out in-depth technical docking and project cooperation in sludge treatment.
In the new energy sector, the two sides reached a number of cooperation intentions on geothermal energy development, energy conservation and carbon reduction, and clean and efficient utilization of coal. Sinar Mas Group highly recognized the advanced nature, cost-effectiveness and implementation capacity of China’s environmental and energy technologies, and expressed willingness to establish long-term and stable cooperation with Chinese partners.
Afternoon Visit to JISC Park: Preliminary Cooperation Intention Reached on Sewage Treatment Plant Construction and Equipment Supply
Meeting Scene
In the afternoon, the delegation attended the China-Indonesia Industrial Park Environmental Protection Cooperation Exchange held at Jatiluhur Industrial Smart City (JISC) in Indonesia, discussing paths for the park’s green and low-carbon development.
Mr. Shi Xiang introduced ACEF’s achievements in ecological industry cooperation and green city construction, expressing the willingness to deeply participate in the construction and operation of environmental protection facilities in JISC and build a model of cooperation. The person in charge of JISC gave a detailed introduction: with a total planned area of 1,300 hectares, the park is located between Jakarta and Bandung, boasting outstanding advantages in transportation and labor force. It has complete infrastructure including sewage treatment, stable power supply, water and gas supply, enjoys multiple investment preferential policies in Indonesia, and is well-positioned to host large-scale green industrial projects.
The on-site inspection focused on the park’s sewage treatment facilities. Accompanied by the park’s management, the delegation inspected the operation, treatment processes and outlet settings of the sewage treatment system, and gained an in-depth understanding of the demand for constructing a new sewage treatment plant, the expansion and renovation plan of existing facilities, and local Indonesian sewage discharge standards.
Based on their technical and project experience, Chinese enterprises put forward targeted suggestions on sewage treatment process optimization, equipment supply and operation management models. The two sides reached a preliminary cooperation intention on the construction of a sewage treatment plant and supporting equipment supply, and agreed to further discuss details including technical plans, investment models and implementation schedules.
In addition, the delegation also visited the park’s water reservoir, under-construction factories, solar street lamps and other green infrastructure. The water reservoir, as a core facility for water resource regulation, became a potential cooperation area for water quality maintenance and surrounding environmental governance. The under-construction factories demonstrated the park’s strong industrial implementation capacity, and Chinese enterprises proposed cooperation ideas on supporting internal environmental protection facilities and energy-saving renovation. The promotion of solar street lamps served as a starting point for discussing the park’s intelligent low-carbon lighting system, further expanding cooperation space in the green energy sector.

Fruitful Achievements Add New Impetus to the Green Belt and Road
This series of exchanges achieved fruitful and targeted results, representing an important practice of ACEF in promoting the overseas development of Belt and Road green brands.
In the future, ACEF will continue to act as a bridging platform, join hands with high-quality Indonesian enterprises and industrial parks to deepen all-round cooperation in environmental protection and green energy. It will accelerate the implementation of projects in key areas including sludge treatment, chemical sewage treatment, new energy development, and sewage treatment plant construction and equipment supply for industrial parks. With concrete actions, ACEF will contribute to the building of a green and sustainable Belt and Road, as well as China-Indonesia ecological industry cooperation and global sustainable development.
