Belt and Road Eco-industry Cooperation Working Committee of All-China Environment Federation Pays a Return Visit to Indonesian Investment Promotion Center in Beijing
On March 13, 2026, Shi Xiang, Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Belt and Road Eco-industry Cooperation Working Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Working Committee") under the All-China Environment Federation (ACEF), led a delegation to pay a return visit to the Indonesian Investment Promotion Center in Beijing, holding special working talks with Rizaldi Indra Janu, Director of the Center. The visit aimed to fully implement the previous cooperation consensus and promote the in-depth development of bilateral cooperation from communication and exchanges to project docking, resource integration, and practical implementation. Both parties conducted detailed preparations for the investment and inspection tour of Chinese environmental protection and green industry enterprises to Indonesia scheduled for April 19 to 25, 2026, reaching a series of important outcomes in key areas such as government docking, project implementation, park collaboration, enterprise promotion, and technological cooperation.
During the talks, Shi Xiang elaborated on the overall implementation plan of the inspection tour. The delegation will select high-quality Chinese enterprises in new energy, solid waste treatment, sewage treatment and other fields to conduct policy docking, project negotiations, park inspections and field surveys in Jakarta and key regions of Indonesia. It will accurately align with Indonesia’s demand for green development and urban infrastructure construction, supporting Indonesia’s ecological governance and industrial green upgrading.
Director Rizaldi Indra Janu stated that the Center will provide comprehensive guarantees and support for the Chinese delegation, actively coordinating core Indonesian government departments including the Ministry of Investment, Ministry of Trade, and Ministry of Energy to establish an efficient communication mechanism. It will also link with Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN, Indonesia’s State Electricity Company) to facilitate Chinese enterprises’ expansion into Indonesia’s energy and power market. Regarding key urban construction projects in Jakarta, the Center will sort out and provide project lists in solid waste disposal, sewage treatment, new energy and other fields, enabling Chinese enterprises to conduct advance coordination and precise layout.
In terms of industrial park cooperation, the Indonesian side will select and recommend high-quality Indonesian industrial parks, promoting the establishment of a "sister parks" strategic cooperation relationship between Chinese and Indonesian parks. Long-term cooperation will be carried out in top-level design, industrial introduction, green infrastructure, investment services, technological collaboration and other areas.
In terms of project cooperation, the Center highlighted the overall layout of Indonesia’s national key project to develop 100 gigawatts of solar PV power plants, hoping that ACEF will assist in recommending outstanding Chinese PV and energy storage enterprises to jointly participate in Indonesia’s new energy project construction.
During the talks, both parties further docked the cooperation resources proposed by Lebit Oratmangun, Co-founder of LUMUNA. Leveraging his channels to connect with Indonesia’s national chamber of commerce system, they will expand local cooperation resources and introduce PLN and Independent Power Producers (IPPs) resources, building an important bridge for Chinese enterprises to participate in Indonesia’s power project construction and power supply cooperation.
Combined with Indonesia’s actual market demand, both parties identified three key cooperation areas: first, supporting the green transformation of Indonesian local factories and deepening cooperation in solar PV panel technology and products; second, facilitating the electrification transformation of Indonesian logistics enterprises by providing systematic solutions such as intelligent fleet management, charging operation and maintenance, and emergency energy supplementation; third, focusing on the resource utilization of waste power batteries and introducing mature recycling technology and equipment.
To enhance the specification and cooperation effectiveness of the inspection activity, both parties agreed to actively promote the participation of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) in the tour. BKPM will interpret investment policies, approval processes and industrial plans for Chinese enterprises, improving project implementation efficiency. During the inspection, special seminars will be arranged with Indonesian sovereign funds, energy institutions, local governments and key enterprises to carry out in-depth cooperation in models such as green energy development, environmental protection infrastructure construction, and green investment and financing.
Both parties unanimously recognized that the green development strategies of China and Indonesia are highly aligned. Indonesia boasts enormous market potential in new energy, environmental governance, green infrastructure, circular economy and other fields, while Chinese enterprises hold distinct advantages in technological R&D, equipment manufacturing, and operation management. This investment inspection tour serves as an important carrier to realize complementary advantages and win-win cooperation between the two countries.
In the next step, both parties will establish a regular coordination mechanism, accelerating the refinement of the inspection itinerary, project list, enterprise matching, seminar arrangements and park cooperation plans. They will fully ensure the smooth organization and fruitful results of the investment inspection tour of Chinese environmental protection and green industry enterprises to Indonesia, injecting new momentum and making new contributions to the joint construction of the Belt and Road green development between China and Indonesia and the promotion of regional sustainable development.
