The Belt and Road Eco-Industry Cooperation Working Committee of the All-China Environment Federation (ACEF) is actively visiting the embassies of League of Arab States (LAS) member countries in China

To facilitate the internationalization of Chinese green brands and support the high-quality development of economic and trade cooperation between China and Arab countries, the All-China Environment Federation plans to host the "Green Brand Overseas (Arab Region) Promotion Event" (hereinafter referred to as the "Event") in Beijing on April 25. This event aims to build a communication bridge for all participating parties, providing authoritative, timely, and effective international environmental cooperation information, gathering consensus on green development, strengthening practical cooperation, jointly addressing global environmental challenges, and contributing to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

In the lead-up to the event, the Belt and Road Eco-Industry Cooperation Working Committeehas successively visited the embassies of the League of Arab States(LAS) member states in China, conducting exchange talks and extending invitations. Recently, the committee visited the embassies of Egypt, Kuwait, Morocco, Qatar, and other countries, engaging in in-depth discussions with embassy representatives on environmental industry cooperation, green technology innovation, and sustainable development. They also discussed the needs for environmental cooperation and the preparations for the Green Brand Going Global Promotion Conference (Arab Region), laying a solid foundation for the upcoming China-Arab Industry Matchmaking Conference.

During the talks, Secretary-General Shi Xiang detailed the preparations for the promotion event and formally invited the representatives to attend the event to explore new opportunities for China-Arab environmental industry cooperation. Secretary-General Shi also emphasized the importance of China-Arab environmental cooperation, noting that strengthening cooperation can jointly promote the innovation and application of environmental technologies and advance the development of the green economy. He mentioned that the All-China Environment Federation has been committed to promoting the internationalization of Chinese green brands and hopes that this promotion event will provide more opportunities for Arab partners to collaborate with Chinese environmental enterprises.

The embassy representatives expressed their full support and cooperation for the promotion event, believing that China-Arab environmental cooperation has broad prospects and immense potential. They also shared their countries' achievements and challenges in the environmental field and expressed their anticipation for strengthened cooperation with China.

Mariam M. Ragaei, a diplomat at the Egyptian Embassy in China, stated that Egypt is accelerating its energy transition, aiming to increase the share of renewable energy to 42% by 2035, and looks forward to in-depth cooperation with Chinese enterprises in the new energy sector.

Faisal Al-Shammari, Counselor at the Kuwaiti Embassy in China, mentioned that Kuwait is promoting economic diversification, with the environmental industry being a key development direction, and looks forward to cooperating with Chinese enterprises in the clean energy sector. 

Radouan Chaouki, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Moroccan Embassy in China, pointed out that Morocco is vigorously developing green transportation and new energy industries, planning to increase the share of renewable energy to 52% by 2030, and looks forward to exploring cooperation opportunities with Chinese enterprises to jointly build green energy projects. During the exchanges, all parties also discussed how to deepen cooperation and achieve mutual benefits, offering many valuable suggestions and opinions.

Dr. Osman, a diplomat at the Qatari Embassy in China, emphasized that Qatar highly values environmental protection and sustainable development and is actively promoting the transition to a green economy. In the field of renewable energy, Qatar has abundant solar and wind energy resources and looks forward to cooperating with Chinese enterprises in these areas to jointly promote the development of green energy.

In the future, the Belt and Road Eco-Industry Cooperation Working Committeeof the All-China Environment Federation will continue to focus on the environmental needs and cooperation intentions of Arab countries, actively seek alignment with Chinese enterprises, and promote the implementation of more substantive cooperative projects. It is believed that with the joint efforts of all parties, the "Green Brand Going Global Initiative (Arab Region) Project Promotion Event" will achieve complete success and make a positive contribution to building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Introduction to the “Belt and Road Green Brand Overseas Promotion Event (Arab Region)” Project Promotion Event

The "Belt and Road" Green Brand Overseas Initiative (Arab Region) Project Promotion Event (hereinafter referred to as the "Event"), jointly organized by the All-China Environment Federation and the League of Arab States(LAS) Representative Office in China (proposed), is scheduled to take place in Beijing on April 25. The event plans to invite representatives from League of Arab States(LAS) member states, government departments, media, research institutions, and leading enterprises, totaling 100 participants. Through policy presentations, opinion exchanges, experience sharing, achievement displays, and cooperation negotiations, the event aims to build a communication bridge for all parties, provide authoritative, timely, and effective international environmental cooperation information, promote policy coordination, infrastructure connectivity, trade facilitation, financial integration, and people-to-people bonds in green sustainable development among countries along the "Belt and Road," gather consensus on green development, deepen practical cooperation, jointly address global environmental challenges, and contribute to promoting the high-quality development of the "Belt and Road" initiative and building a community with a shared future for mankind.


Introduction to the League of Arab States

The League of Arab States (Arab League) was established in 1945 and comprises 22 Arab countries. It aims to enhance political, economic, and cultural cooperation among its member states. 

Member states include: Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.


Introduction to Egypt

Egypt is located in North Africa, spanning Asia and Africa, bordering the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea, with a land area of approximately 1 million square kilometers and a population of about 100 million. Egypt's economy is primarily based on agriculture, tourism, and oil and gas exports, making it the third-largest economy in Africa. There is significant potential for environmental cooperation between China and Egypt in areas such as water resource management (sewage treatment and water recycling technologies), renewable energy, and solid waste treatment.


Introduction to Morocco

Morocco is located in North Africa, bordering the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, adjacent to Algeria and Western Sahara, with a land area of approximately 446,000 square kilometers and a population of about 37 million. The economy is primarily based on agriculture, tourism, and mining, making it the fifth-largest economy in Africa. The Moroccan government places high importance on the environmental industry, committed to promoting the development of renewable energy, as well as advancements in water resource management and solid waste treatment technologies, offering broad cooperation opportunities with Chinese enterprises.


Introduction to Kuwait

Kuwait is located in West Asia, bordering the Persian Gulf, adjacent to Saudi Arabia and Iraq, with a land area of approximately 17,800 square kilometers and a population of about 4.5 million. Kuwait's economy is primarily based on oil exports, with abundant oil and gas reserves, making it one of the wealthiest countries in the world. Kuwait has vast market potential in new energy, water environment management, and ecological agriculture, making it an important partner in China-Arab environmental cooperation.


Introduction to Qatar

Qatar is located on the southwestern coast of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula, a monarchical state with its capital in Doha. The country has abundant oil and natural gas resources, with natural gas reserves ranking third globally and oil reserves also among the highest, making the energy industry its economic pillar. Qatar has a high per capita GDP and is one of the wealthiest countries in the world. There are broad prospects for cooperation between China and Qatar in energy, infrastructure, technology, and finance.
