All-China Environment Federation’s “Belt and Road” Eco-Industry Cooperation Work Committee Visited the Algerian Embassy to Promote China-Algeria Environmental Industry Cooperation
On February 25, 2025, Secretary-General Shi Xiang and Celine Du from the International Department of the All-China Environment Federation’s “Belt and Road” Eco-Industry Cooperation Work Committee visited the Algerian Embassy in China for in-depth discussions with Minister Counsellor Ahmed Nekrouf and Counselor Ahmed Benyahya. The purpose of the visit was to promote industrial cooperation in the environmental protection sector between China and Algeria and to prepare for the upcoming “Belt and Road” Green Brand Promotion Event (Arab Region) to be held in Beijing on April 25, 2025.
During the meeting, Secretary-General Shi Xiang provided a detailed introduction to the establishment of the All-China Environment Federation(ACEF) and the main work directions for the Belt and Road Work Committee in 2025. He particularly highlighted the “Belt and Road” Green Brand Going Global Program and the “Belt and Road” Green Brand Going Global Promotion Event (Arab Region) (hereinafter referred to as the “Event”). He also formally invited the Algerian Embassy representatives to participate in this event, which will feature speeches or roundtable forums to share Algeria’s environmental needs and market investment environment, fostering more Chinese companies to invest and cooperate with Algeria.
Minister Counsellor Ahmed Nekrouf welcomed the visit of the All-China Environment Federation’s delegation and expressed a strong interest in the upcoming event, looking forward to active participation. He mentioned that Algeria has abundant natural resources and a vast environmental protection market. The country is committed to promoting the development of a green economy, and cooperation with China’s environmental industry holds significant potential. He hopes to use the upcoming event to share Algeria’s experiences and needs in the environmental protection field, introduce advanced Chinese technologies and green products, and jointly promote regional green development and achieve sustainable cooperation.
During the discussions, both sides explored cooperation opportunities in areas such as new energy, solid waste disposal, water environment management, and ecological agriculture. They also discussed ways to strengthen collaboration during COP30, including joint participation in the COP30 meetings, further exploring cooperative potential, showcasing achievements in environmental protection, and exploring new paths for future cooperation.
Minister Counsellor Ahmed Nekrouf provided detailed information about the International Recycling and Utilization Exhibition (REVADE) to be held in Algeria from October 12 to 15 this year. He formally invited the ACEF to organize relevant enterprises for inspection, exhibition, and other activities during this period. He noted that the exhibition would serve as a valuable platform for showcasing Algeria’s environmental achievements, learning from international advanced experiences, and offering Chinese companies a great opportunity to understand Algeria’s market needs and expand their international cooperation network. He expressed his hopes to work with the ACEF to jointly promote the development of the China-Algeria environmental industry.
This visit defined the cooperation direction in the environmental protection field and established a specific action plan. Both parties agreed to enhance communication, promote project implementation, and ensure the stability and sustainability of cooperation through official channels. This exchange deepened the mutual understanding between China and Algeria in the environmental protection sector and opened a new chapter in their in-depth cooperation, laying a solid foundation.

Introduction to the “Belt and Road” Green Brand Going Global Promotion Event (Arab Region)
The “Belt and Road” Green Brand Going Global Promotion Event (Arab Region), co-hosted by the ACEF and the League of Arab States (tentative), is scheduled to take place on April 25 in Beijing. The event plans to invite 100 representatives from the League of Arab States member countries, government departments, media, research institutions, and leading enterprises. Through policy presentations, exchange of views, experience sharing, achievement exhibitions, and cooperation negotiations, the event aims to build communication bridges for all participants, providing authoritative, timely, and effective international environmental cooperation information. It will promote policy communication, infrastructure connectivity, trade smoothness, financial integration, and people-to-people ties among Belt and Road countries, consolidating consensus on green development, deepening practical cooperation, and jointly addressing global environmental challenges. The goal is to contribute to the high-quality development of the Belt and Road initiative and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
