Technical principle

The topsoil layer and soil structure of abandoned industrial and mining area were damaged. The lack of natural rooting and spreading medium for plants, the poor ability of water and fertilizer preservation, and the low content of organic matter, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium made it difficult for plants to grow normally in the area. To contrapose the above problems, the company independently developed an economic efficient green environment-friendly technology of vegetation restoration and ecological restoration for abandoned industrial and mining landafter years of scientific research, on the basis of a large number of tests, demonstrations and application practice. In order to create a suitable soil environment for plants, we developed an artificial soil named “Youli soil” with exclusive intellectual property rights. The artificial soil has excellent capabilities to resistant to wind erosion, rain scour and to preserve  soil and nutrients, which can provide moisture and nutrients for vegetation growth, solve the problems of poor fertility in industrial and mining land soils. This provides a basis for the growth of vegetation protection. The application of the artificial soil was combined with the techniques of the selection of stress-resistant plants and spray-seeding, which can create a stable plant community structure and make the landscape in harmony with the surrounding natural environment. Thus, we form a stable ecosystem and achieve the purpose of vegetation restoration and ecological restoration finally.


Scope of application

This technology can be widely used in the ecological management, soil and water conservation, sand control, soil remediation, water environment management of mines, tailings dams, waste yards, abandoned land, coastal banks (dams), tropical artificial islands and other harsh site conditions.  This technology has a remarkable effect on the ecological restoration of damaged areas caused by modern engineering constructions (highway, railway construction, mining, park construction, etc.) or natural factors (geological disasters, etc.).


Process flow and description

1. Preparation of Youli soil

Mix up the exactly chose ingredients including  clay, organic matter, plant fiber, aggregates, soil stabilizer and other materials.

2. Spray-seeding by the specifical equipment

Our company independently developed a specific spray-seeding machine. The machine  with single or double horizontal mixing bin shows a high mixing efficiency and large working radius and was granted a national patent of China, which can be used in all kinds of difficult projects.

3. Scientific plant species selection

We select appropriate plant species according to site conditions such as the type of damaged slope and climate environment,  and seed them with a reasonable and scientific proportion, which aims to form a species-rich structure-stable plant community with the ability of development and succession naturally in the restoration area.


Promotion prospects

This technology has been evaluated as the international leading level by China High-tech Industrialization Research Association, and has been applied to nearly 80 cities in 31 provinces or autonomous regions of China, and about 500 ecological restoration projects have been completed with this technology. It is in the leading position among the similar technologies and has a high technological maturity. It is expected that the application of this technology in the field can reach the scale of ecological restoration area of thousands of millions by 2023. This can greatly improve the ecological environment of damaged areas, create stable plant communities, and improve the regional ecological pollution prevention function with high quality.
