GreenNovo Environmental Technology CO.,Ltd. is a high-tech environmental protection enterprise engaged in resourceful and clean utilization and harmless environmental protection treatment of heavy solids hazardous waste from steel smelting, non-ferrous metal smelting, electroplating, chemical industry and so on. Relying on the core technology of "fire enrichment - wet decontamination - multi-stage coupling integrated treatment", it extracts more than ten kinds of products such as recycled zinc, indium, iodine and cesium from heavy solids hazardous waste. We have established more than ten industrialized production lines around the world, and can treat about 1.2 million tons/year of solid and hazardous waste. After 22 years of technology precipitation and innovative research and development, the company's technology level, treatment scale and industrialization level are all in the international leading position, and has become a global leader in the field of resource utilization of steel soot and non-ferrous metal smelting slag. The company follows the concept of green manufacturing, and the resourceized products have been certified by INTEK GIF, GRS, SGS RoHS and many other international certifications.


Project Background

Malaysia is an important steel producing and exporting country in Southeast Asia. For a long time, the proportion of steel soot generated by Malaysian steel mills is low, and there is a large amount of untreated valuable steel soot, which is not only a potential threat to the environment but also a huge waste of resources.

GreenNovo Environmental Technology CO.,Ltd. is a "UNEP Basel Convention Regional Center for Asia and the Pacific - GreenNovo Environmental Technology Demonstration Base" and a "Specialized, Specialized and New" Small Giant Enterprise in China. In 2016, after announcing the implementation of "Globalization Strategy", the company began to seek opportunities to expand the global market and participate in global competition. In order to actively respond to the national strategy of "One Belt, One Road", the company has established several solid and hazardous waste disposal bases with solid and hazardous waste disposal enterprises in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Myanmar and other countries.


Project Overview

GreenNovo has many years of experience in steel soot disposal and utilization, with leading technology and rich experience. 2019, GreenNovo acquired a local company in Malaysia by way of equity transfer, and participated in the resource utilization of steel soot in Malaysia by using its own technology and operating experience. After project research and process evaluation and optimization, in August 2019, GreenNovo's Malaysian pyrotechnical disposal base started project installation in Penang State, Malaysia, and explored the local steel and galvanized industry market. in April 2020, GreenNovo's Malaysian pyrotechnical disposal base with a processing capacity of 100,000 tons/year and an annual output of 12,000 gold tons of secondary zinc oxide was completed and put into operation. The project takes the steel soot from Malay region as raw material and uses the volatile reduction process of rotary kiln to make resourceful use and environmental protection treatment of steel soot, and the output product is sub-zinc oxide powder, which is then imported to GreenNovo's Yunnan base for subsequent wet process resourceful treatment to extract various metals, forming zinc ingots, zinc alloys, indium ingots, lead sulfate and other various products.


Significance of the project

The successful implementation of the project has improved the development and utilization capacity of local steel soot and other heavy metal-containing solid and hazardous wastes, improved the regional environment and contributed to the regional economic development.

The recycled metal products produced by the project, compared with the mining and smelting process of producing primary metals, reduce the damage to the environment caused by mineral mining and the pollution to the land caused by the accumulation of smelting waste, and to a certain extent, reduce China's dependence on the import of metal ores.
