Technical principle

According to statistics, in 2020, China's centralized medical waste disposal capacity was 1.87 million tons/year, and emergency medical waste disposal capacity was 4.45 million tons/year. In 2020, a total of 1.26 million tons of medical waste was actually disposed of, including 1.14 million tons of centralized medical waste and 120,000 tons of emergency medical waste. As shown in Figure 3, medical waste incineration accounted for 640,000 tons, accounting for 50.8% of the total. 390,000 tons of medical waste were treated by high temperature steam disinfection, accounting for 31.0% of the total amount. 70,000 tons of medical waste were disposed of by chemical disinfection, accounting for 5.6% of the total. 30,000 tons of medical waste were treated by microwave disinfection, accounting for 2.4% of the total. Other means of disposal of medical waste 10,000 tons, accounting for 0.8% of the total disposal; Emergency treatment of medical waste was 120,000 tons, accounting for 9.5% of the total. In 2020, the situation of medical waste generation and disposal is serious. After the adoption of emergency disposal facilities, emergency disposal accounts for 9.5% of the total amount of disposal, which is relatively large, indicating that emergency disposal has greatly improved the disposal capacity of medical waste in China.
